The morning show at CHEZ 106 is not only a great way to start the day; but, the lads have a great community spirit. One of their favorite causes is the Operating Room Fund at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, (CHEO).

As a parent I can vouch that CHEO is an anchor in our community. One day, on the way to work, between some great classic rock ( Hey I am Mick Jagger’s age J ), Doc and Woody were talking about a fund raiser they were holding. It came to me  that our clinic could perhaps pitch in and do our part….

I discussed it with the staff and we agreed that a really fun thing would be for us to offer teeth whitening, at an affordable price. with a portion going towards the fund.

We lowered out fee by close to $150 to $225 and we donate $25 of that to the Doc and Woody CHEO fund. So far we have donated close to $3000 to a really worthy cause.

Our receptionist , Kerry, is also a dental assistant and she is a whiz at taking impressions for the trays for our  at home whitening. I prefer the tray system and there is some evidence that it offers a better long term result.

On a more comical note, Doc and Woody had me live on their show early in our fund raising program. I inadvertently referred to Kerry as the "Mistress of the Impression Material". Those of us in Ottawa, who know and love Doc and Woody’s great sense of humour, will appreciate that they jumped all over this… J
